Job Description

An Electrical Engineer is required for a large multi-million pound project in Plymouth. Based on site full time you will be part of an exciting new team responsible for maintaining the building.




Summary of duties:
  • Maintain the safe and effective operation of Mechanical and Electrical building services, systems, and equipment on site
    • Carry out routine inspections, servicing, maintenance, and record-keeping in accordance with relevant procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements - SFG20, NHS HTM’s, and all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
    • Support the reliability, availability, and performance of equipment and infrastructure.
    • Undertake repairs and maintenance (PPM) activities within the scope of training, competence, and authorisation.
    • Complete planned maintenance activities and ensure all associated documentation is accurate and up to date.
    • Respond to reactive maintenance requests and equipment faults in a timely and professional manner.
    • Perform duties in accordance with organisational policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
    • Participate in out-of-hours support arrangements where required.
    • Maintain accurate records and complete work-related documentation promptly.
    • Carry out all tasks safely, professionally, and efficiently.
    • Adhere to health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements at all times.
 


What’s needed to apply!
  • Relevant electrical qualifications
    • Ideally you will have a background working on healthcare /NHS projects with an understanding of the regulations and compliance required
  • Practical experience in a related engineering or maintenance role.
    • Working knowledge of building services and associated systems.
    • Experience carrying out inspection, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair activities.
    • Familiarity with participating in on-call or out-of-hours support arrangements.
    • Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
    • Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
    • Proactive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting.
    • Ability to identify issues, determine appropriate solutions, and complete repairs effectively.
