The OpportunityWe are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing food manufacturing business based in Tipton.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to work within a fast-paced production environment, playing a key role in maintaining and improving manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities
- Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
- Maintain and repair pumps, conveyors, fillers, cookers, and packaging machinery
- Undertake PLC fault finding (programming experience not required)
- Support continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, HACCP, and GMP standards
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximise plant performance
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent Engineering qualification
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities
- Experience working on high-speed production or packaging lines
- Ability to work a rotating shift pattern
- PLC fault-finding experience (Siemens or Allen Bradley)
- 18th Edition qualification
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Competitive salary of £52,000 - £55,000
