Job Description
We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (C) Shunter Drivers to work on-site at a busy logistics operation in Newark.
This is a great opportunity for professional HGV drivers looking for regular, ongoing work in a dedicated yard environment. The role involves operating a tug/shunter vehicle to move trailers safely and efficiently around the site, positioning vehicles on loading bays and designated areas as required.
As a Shunter Driver, your main responsibility will be the safe and efficient movement of trailers around the site. You will be working within a busy distribution environment and will be expected to always maintain a high standard of safety and professionalism.

- Moving trailers around the site using a tug/shunter vehicle.
- Positioning trailers onto loading and unloading bays.
- Moving empty and loaded trailers to designated areas.
- Carrying out trailer movements as instructed by the transport or yard team.
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers where required.
- Completing necessary vehicle and trailer safety checks.
- Reporting any defects, damage or safety issues immediately.
- 12-hour shifts
- Day or night shifts depending on the shift pattern.
- Regular ongoing work available.
- A valid Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (C) HGV licence.
- Previous HGV driving experience.
- A good understanding of vehicle and trailer safety.
- The ability to carry out basic vehicle checks.
- A professional and safety-focused approach to work.
